LANTITE Results: When They Come Out, What Your Statement Shows and What to Do Next

LANTITE results come out in a fixed release week, about four weeks after each test window closes, in your ACER candidate account. For 2026 Window 4, sat from 26 October to 8 November, that is the week ending 4 December 2026, and ACER says results "cannot be released early under any circumstances". What arrives is a statement for each test: whether you met the standard, a band and a dot for each sub-domain. No score.

When do LANTITE results come out?

ACER sets one release week per window and publishes it ahead of time. The 2026 dates, from ACER's results page (checked 25 October 2026):

Earlier in 2026, Window 1 results came out in the week ending 20 March and Window 2 results in the week ending 12 June.

In Windows 3 and 4 of 2026, the release week ends 26 days after the window closes. Everyone in a window gets results in the same week, so your wait depends on when you sat. Sit on the first day of the window and it's closer to six weeks, which is what ACER's own video guide says: "around six weeks after sitting".

What time of day? ACER names a week, not an hour. Log in to your ACER account during the release week; checking the week before changes nothing, because nothing comes early. Your university, tertiary admissions centres and teacher regulators can also access your result.

ACER hadn't published the 2027 release weeks when we checked. We add each one as it appears; the 2027 windows themselves are on our LANTITE test dates page.

    What your LANTITE statement shows

Each test has its own statement, titled "Statement of Literacy Test Result" or "Statement of Numeracy Test Result". It shows three things.

    • The verdict: "Standard achieved" or "not achieved", shown as a dot against a line that marks the standard.
    • A band: Band 1 is below the standard, Band 2 at or above it, Band 3 clearly above it.
    • Sub-domain dots: for literacy, Reading and Technical Skills of Writing; for numeracy, Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, Statistics and Probability, Calculator Available and Calculator not Available.

What it doesn't show is a number. ACER decides results on its own scale but prints no score, and it says it is "not possible to provide the number of questions or a percentage figure needed to meet the standard". Why there's no LANTITE pass mark, and how our practice scoring works instead, is on its own page.

Two details catch people out. First, you can meet the standard without meeting it in every sub-domain, because the overall result "is not a simple average" of the sub-domains. A low dot for Calculator not Available on a statement that says "Standard achieved" still means you've met the standard for numeracy. Second, if you didn't meet it, your statement has extra pages, with descriptors for each sub-domain and a section headed "What should you do next?". ACER revised the statements in 2023 "to provide better feedback", and those pages are the most useful thing a "not achieved" result gives you.

Band descriptors show what separates the bands. In Reading, Band 1 describes locating directly stated information; Band 2, connecting information across a text and inferring the writer's position; Band 3, synthesising, evaluating and interpreting the effect of language. In Number and Algebra, Band 1 covers fractions, decimals and percentages in one- or two-step problems; Band 2, proportional reasoning, multi-step problems and using a formula; Band 3, less familiar values and finding a rate from a linear graph.

What "met the standard" and "not met" mean

The standard is literacy and numeracy "equivalent to the top 30 per cent of the Australian adult population". Meet it, and that test is done for good. ACER says you "only need to demonstrate once" that you've met the standard for each component, and results are transferable and "do not expire".

You need both tests before you can graduate from an accredited teaching degree. Some states tie more to it. In NSW you must meet the standard before your final professional experience placement and, since 1 August 2026, before you can be conditionally accredited to teach. In Victoria you need it before provisional registration.

"Not met" means exactly that: not this time, for that test. It isn't a mark against the other test, which keeps its own result, and it doesn't limit how often you can try again.

Didn't meet the standard? How LANTITE re-sits work

There's no attempt limit. "Education Ministers agreed from 2025 there will be no test limits for candidates sitting the LANTITE," says ACER's re-sit page, and the Department of Education's January 2026 FAQ says the limits were removed permanently. Any page still quoting a limit is out of date.

    A re-sit means four things:

    1. The whole test, again. "Results from individual sub-domain(s) are not transferrable between tests," so a strong Reading dot doesn't carry into your next literacy attempt.
    2. A new registration and fee. A$98 per test (A$196 for both) each time you sit, in 2026, booked in the two-week registration period before a window. Late registrations aren't accepted.
    3. A window. There are four a year, and you can sit each test once per window. Miss the standard in 2026 Window 4 and your next sitting is 15–28 February 2027, about 10 weeks after your result, with registration open 12–25 January.
    4. No shortcut. ACER takes no appeals, considers no re-marking requests and gives no special consideration.

Talk to your university before you register again; ACER's re-sit page suggests it, and AITSL's accreditation standards say providers "must give targeted assistance". Ask early if a placement depends on your result: at universities such as UNSW and Canberra, the final placement, or its grade, waits for a pass.

You won't be the only one. About 1 in 8 first-time candidates missed the literacy standard in 2025 (Department of Education).

Then aim the re-sit. Start with the sub-domains your statement flags, and finish by rehearsing the whole test against the clock. In our simulator, every full run is 65 questions in 120 minutes and ends with a breakdown by the sub-domain names your ACER statement uses for that test, each banded Below, Around or Above the standard and marked "our estimate". Every results screen carries the same header: "Practice result from our model — not an ACER result. ACER publishes no pass mark; it reports only whether you met the standard." Re-sitting literacy, start with LANTITE literacy practice; numeracy, with LANTITE numeracy practice; and when you're ready for the full rehearsal, take a timed LANTITE practice test.

PassToTeach results screen headed 'Practice result from our model — not an ACER result. ACER publishes no pass mark; it reports only whether you met the standard.', with sub-domain rows marked Below, Around or Above the standard (our estimate).

    LANTITE results: common questions

What time do LANTITE results come out?

ACER publishes a release week, not a time of day, and results "cannot be released early under any circumstances".

How do I access my LANTITE results?

Log in to your ACER candidate account during the release week. ACER also makes your result accessible to your university, tertiary admissions centres and teacher regulators.

How long do LANTITE results take?

About four weeks after the window closes, and 26 days in 2026's last two windows. If you sat early in the window, expect closer to six weeks from your test day.

Does the LANTITE statement show a score?

No. It shows whether you met the standard, a band from 1 to 3 and a dot for each sub-domain, with no score or percentage.

Can I appeal or get my LANTITE re-marked?

ACER allows neither: "ACER will not enter into appeals against the test results," and "Requests for re-marking will not be considered."

How many times can you sit the LANTITE?

As many times as you need, because there have been no test limits since 2025. Each attempt costs the fee and a place in one of the four test windows.

If I fail one test, do I re-sit both?

No. You re-sit only the test you didn't meet, in full; a test you've met stays met.

    Do LANTITE results expire?

Never. In ACER's words, results "are transferrable and do not expire", so a pass from your first year still counts when you graduate.
