How we score

Practice result from our model — not an ACER result. ACER publishes no pass mark; it reports only whether you met the standard.

    Literacy

Cut-offs are based on the raw-score ranges ACER publishes for its own practice tests, set slightly higher for literacy.

    Numeracy

Cut-offs follow the raw-score ranges ACER publishes for its own practice tests, which ACER calls indicative, not determinative.

    Sub-domain estimates

For a sub-domain with n items on our form, "Around" starts at ceil(n × a) and "Above" at ceil(n × b), using the exact fractions below (literacy uses our interim higher Above cut-offs). Below "Around" = "Below". Our items are not ACER's, so a band is our estimate, never ACER's verdict.

Per component, from the component band only. Sub-domain bands are diagnostic (ACER: a component can be met without every sub-domain [V F156]).

Numeracy content and calculator breakdowns describe the same questions in two separate views. They are never added together.

We score all 65 items. We have no hidden trial items, as ACER's own practice tests score all 65 [V F163]. One mark per item. Grid items score 1 only if every row is right. Typed words: case-insensitive exact match, "N" for no error. Numeric: numerically equal values accepted (338.4 = 338.40); spaces and commas are rejected; hhmm where the item asks for it.

    Percentile

among completed, non-practice runs of the same form on this platform. Practice-mode runs (untimed, flags on, per-item feedback) are excluded.

Your percentile appears once 30 candidates have completed this form.
