LANTITE Test Dates 2026–27: Registration, Test Windows, Results and Cost
LANTITE test dates follow a fixed rhythm: four two-week test windows a year, each with a two-week registration period that closes three weeks before the window opens. The next registration is for 2027 Window 1: register 12–25 January 2027, sit 15–28 February 2027. Each test costs A$98, or A$196 for both, every time you sit (2026 fee).
Last checked: 25 October 2026, against ACER's test-dates, registration, payment, refund, test-centre and remote-proctoring pages. We refresh this page every test window.

Source: ACER's test-dates page. Registration opens between 10am and 12pm on the first day and closes at 5pm Melbourne time (AEST or AEDT) on the last. Results come about four weeks after a window closes; ACER hadn't published the 2027 release weeks when we checked. What results day looks like: LANTITE results.
How LANTITE registration works
You register through an ACER candidate account, as an enrolled teaching student or a prospective one. Since April 2023 that includes people planning to enrol, Year 11 and 12 students among them.
In the registration period you:
- Choose your tests. Each test is registered on its own, so literacy and numeracy can go in the same window or different ones, but each test only once per window.
- Choose a test centre or remote. One mode covers every test you sit that window, and you can switch only while registration is open. Centre seats go first come, first served.
- Pay. A$98 per test, A$196 for both, in 2026.
- Apply for any adjustments by the same closing date: LANTITE reasonable adjustments.
Sitting remotely? You also upload a portrait photo and your ID by ACER's separate deadline, so ACER can verify them before the test. For 2026 Window 4 that deadline was 5pm AEDT on 16 October, after registration had closed, and an ID problem left unresolved cancels the registration and forfeits the fee.
Three rules catch people out. There is no late registration: "late registrations will not be accepted under any circumstances". A centre booking is final once registration closes; ACER won't change it for "personal circumstances or misadventure", and it doesn't defer registrations to a later window. And you never buy an admission ticket. The fee you pay at registration covers the test, and ACER releases Admission Tickets about a week before the window opens.
How much does the LANTITE cost?
In 2026, A$98 for one test and A$196 for both, GST inclusive, "payable for each test component each time you register and attempt the test". A re-sit costs the same again.
- Cards: Visa or Mastercard, credit or debit. No American Express, Diners, cheques or cash.
- No loan: "You cannot add the cost of the test to your HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP or SA-HELP loan."
- Some universities may pay: ACER lists Griffith, La Trobe (Nexus students only) and ECU (HAT@ECU students only) as providers that may cover the fee. QUT no longer does.
- Refunds: cancel before registration closes and ACER refunds the fee less an administration charge of A$12 per test cancelled. After the close, refunds are only what the Australian Consumer Law requires. In 2027 the refund deadlines fall on the registration closing dates: 25 January, 19 April, 19 July and 11 October.
These are ACER's 2026 fees. Check the fee on ACER's payment page when you register for a 2027 window; we update this page every window.
LANTITE test centres and sitting at home
Test centres. In 2026, ACER runs centres in all eight state and territory capitals in every window, plus regional centres in NSW, Victoria and Queensland in some windows (none in Window 4). Sessions report at 7:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm or 4:30pm; allow at least two and a half hours per test. Centre addresses come out about a week before the window. Latecomers aren't admitted once the test has started. Bring one of three IDs, matching your Admission Ticket: a current photo passport, a driver's licence (learner's, probationary or full) or an Australian Proof of Age Card.
Remote, from home. Yes, you can sit the LANTITE at home. ProctorU, a US company, supplies a live proctor who checks your room and desk, then watches through your webcam, microphone and shared screen, and "your entire test session will be recorded". Sessions run 24/7 within the window. Book at least 72 hours ahead, and finish before the remote period ends, 5 days before the window closes: for 2026 Window 4, that meant booking by 11:45pm AEDT on 31 October and sitting by 11:45pm AEDT on 3 November. Allow at least two and a half hours, of which 30 minutes to an hour is check-in.
You'll need your own computer with a webcam, a microphone, the Guardian browser and, on Windows, an activated copy. No external monitor unless ACER has given permission. No watch. Avoid school, university and library networks. You're allowed two blank sheets of scratch paper and a pen; the sheets are torn up on camera at the end.
Two remote rules can cost you a fee or an attempt. Cancel within 24 hours of your session, or miss it, and you're marked absent and lose the fee, although it doesn't count as an attempt. Feel unwell after starting and you can't reschedule: the test is "scored as it is".
Plan backwards from your window
Work back from the registration close, not the test. For 2027 Window 1:
- By 5pm Melbourne time, 25 January: registration, payment and any adjustment application. It's also ACER's last day to cancel for a refund (less A$12 per test).
- About a week before 15 February: your Admission Ticket arrives, and centre addresses are released.
- At least 72 hours before a remote session: your ProctorU booking, inside ACER's remote cut-off.
- 15–28 February: the window. Each test is 65 questions in 120 minutes.
Then work back from the test itself. If January is registration month, December and January are practice months: take one full timed run early to see where you stand, then put most of your remaining time into your weakest sub-domains. Our guide to how to pass the LANTITE sets out the weeks. In our simulator, every full run uses the same 120-minute clock as the LANTITE, numeracy section 1 locks the moment you start section 2, and the calculator behaves like ACER's, including the % key.
LANTITE dates and cost: common questions
How much does the LANTITE cost?
In 2026, A$98 per test or A$196 for both, each time you sit. It can't go on HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP or SA-HELP.
When can I sit the LANTITE?
During any of the four test windows, once you've registered in that window's registration period. Teaching students are expected to attempt it before the end of their first year; prospective students may sit it before they enrol, but don't have to.
Can you do the LANTITE test at home?
Yes: remotely proctored by ProctorU, on your own computer with a webcam and microphone, booked at least 72 hours ahead.
Is there late registration for the LANTITE?
There isn't. Registration closes at 5pm Melbourne time on its last day, and ACER does not accept late registrations "under any circumstances".
Can I change my LANTITE test date?
At a test centre, only while registration is open; after that the booking is final, and ACER doesn't move registrations to a later window. Remote sittings can be rescheduled within the window, but cancelling within 24 hours of your session loses the fee.
Do I have to sit both tests in the same window?
No. Each test is registered and sat separately, so you can split them across two windows.
