Free LANTITE practice tests: ACER's own material first, then one full timed test
The best free LANTITE practice test is ACER's own. ACER publishes a full 65-question practice test for each component as a free PDF, with worked solutions and a table that turns your raw score into below, around or above the standard, plus about 95 more sample, practice and retired questions per test. Registered candidates also get the practice tests online, with a report against the standard. Use all of it. Then, for a full sitting you haven't seen, take ours: one complete timed test, literacy or numeracy, free with sign-up.
Free sign-up, no card. One full test, your choice of literacy or numeracy.
Free LANTITE practice questions and tests from ACER
ACER sells no LANTITE prep of its own, and what it gives away is generous.

Our count from ACER's PDFs, 25 October 2026. Everything is on ACER's practice material page.
By ACER's own account, its practice test reflects the live test in content, question types, difficulty, number of questions and time available. That makes the ACER practice test your first full rehearsal.
One caution, also from ACER: its practice material "has been incorrectly represented on third-party websites and in social media". Download it from ACER's site, not from a copy.
Use them in the right order
ACER's score ranges hold only for a first attempt, made before you've seen the worked solutions; ACER calls them indicative, not determinative. Our reading of that rule gives this order:
- Registered? Sit an online practice test first, timed, before you open the PDF of that test. Your report holds only on that first, unseen attempt.
- Not registered yet? Sit the PDF practice test instead: 120 minutes on a timer, answers on paper, worked solutions closed. Score it with ACER's equivalence table. The online version of that test can't give you a clean report afterwards, because you'll have seen its questions.
- Then study. Work through the worked solutions, and use the sample, 2017, 2023 and retired questions as drills on your weak spots.
Registering costs A$98 per test (A$196 for both) in 2026, and the online practice tests come with it. Cancel and take a refund, and ACER withdraws them.
Where free material runs out
A practice test can only surprise you once. ACER gives you one full practice test per component, and after your first attempt its score ranges no longer apply to you. The other sets are short: 10 to 35 questions each, without the 120-minute clock. They're good drills. They aren't a sitting.
That's the gap our free test fills: a second complete sitting you haven't seen, in the same published format, with a result from a model whose rules we publish.
The free PassToTeach test
One full test, literacy or numeracy, after a free sign-up. It's Form A of whichever test you choose, at full length:
- 65 questions in 120 minutes, after a short untimed tutorial.
- ACER's answer formats: multiple choice, grids, one typed word (or N), numbers-only boxes with the units outside.
- Numeracy: 52 questions with a calculator that behaves like ACER's, including the % key, then 13 without. Section 1 locks when section 2 starts.
- The clock runs on our server and doesn't stop if you close the tab. At 120:00 the test submits itself.
Your result shows your score out of 65, your band (Below, Around or Above the standard, our estimate) and the first three rows of your breakdown. Everything past those rows stays blurred, and the question-by-question review and your percentile come with Elite.
Practice result from our model — not an ACER result. ACER publishes no pass mark; it reports only whether you met the standard.
You get one free test in total, not one per component, so pick the one you're less sure of. Every question in it is ours; none is taken or adapted from ACER's practice material. The full format of both tests is on our LANTITE practice test page, the bands are explained in how we score, and what Starter and Elite add is one click away.

Free LANTITE practice FAQ
Is there a free LANTITE practice test PDF?
Yes. ACER publishes one full practice test for literacy and one for numeracy (2019), 65 questions each, with worked solutions and a score-equivalence table.
Are old LANTITE test papers available?
No. ACER doesn't release live tests: the questions are secure and change every sitting, and copying or sharing them is misconduct under ACER's rules. The nearest thing is ACER's retired questions, 35 per component, free.
Where can I find LANTITE practice questions?
On ACER's site first. Its sample, 2017, 2023 and retired sets add up to 95 questions for each test, and registered candidates can also try ACER's on-screen calculator in its Practice Questions. For topic-by-topic help, see our LANTITE numeracy practice test and LANTITE literacy practice test guides.
Do I need to register for the LANTITE to practise?
Not for ACER's PDFs or our free test. ACER's online practice tests and its on-screen calculator are for registered candidates only.
Is your free test the same as ACER's practice test?
No. Ours is a different, original form in the same published format, with a calculator that behaves like ACER's. Use both: ACER's for its own score ranges, ours for a fresh full sitting.
Does ACER recommend PassToTeach?
No. ACER doesn't recommend or endorse any commercial course, ours included, and says some "might provide misleading information". That's why we publish how we score.
